Merlene meets Camberwell & Peckham Liberal Democrats at their AGM

Lynne Featherstone MP, Equalities Minister in the Coalition Government was the guest speaker at Camberwell & Peckham Lib Dem's AGM. She shared about her work which overlapped with other ministries such as Home Office, Justice and Immigration departments. Her role was very much that of the conscience of the Government, alerting colleagues to situations of injustice and inequality.
"I was impressed by Lynne's ability to see the big picture and to communicate to members the horizon and power shifts that have come about from going into coalition. Whilst Lib Dems hold our principles and values dear, the challenge is in getting as many of these embedded in policies whilst in Government and this is clearly what Lynne has managed to do" said Merlene.
A new executive was elected at the meeting with Columba Blango as the new Chair and huge thanks given to outgoing Chair Alastair Bowman for his contributions to the local Party.
